As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within our Corporate Technology team, your role will involve independently reviewing user stories, evaluating proposed technical solutions, and executing tests. You will also contribute to the design, development, and strategic implementation of an automated testing solution. Your work will primarily support the Resiliency business, aiming to enhance operational efficiency, minimize errors, and create new opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot while considering upstream and downstream systems.
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools to enhance automation value.
• Use technical troubleshooting to solve basic complexity technical problems.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret large data sets to identify problems and aid decision-making.
• Learn and apply system processes and methodologies for developing secure, stable code and systems.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience.
• Experience in test design and execution within the Financial Services industry, supporting multiple lines of business.
• Hands-on experience with automation testing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using tools like Cucumber, REST API Test Automation Frameworks, and UI Automation with POM Framework; exposure to building utilities for automation using Spring Boot.
• Proven experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Hands-on coding experience with Java (Core and some advanced Java).
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile).

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Exposure to testing microservices-based systems.
• Deep understanding of REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience in designing and testing backend applications.
• Proficiency in various test automation frameworks.
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright for UI automation.
