Software Development Manager

The OCI Metering team ingests millions of records of OCI`s customer usage daily from every OCI Service team. These records are processed, aggregated and used for customer reports and billing purposes. The team supports a big data pipeline that is required to be highly redundant and scalable. Additionally the team works with all areas of the OCI cloud services (Compute, Databases, etc) and the downstream platform team (Billing, Identity, Accounts, etc). It is a critical team gathering usage from all areas of the OCI Cloud and sending to downstream teams. The team supports a constantly growing pipeline supporting new customer requests and services.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must have an understanding of large-scale distributed systems (cloud-based environments). In addition, the candidate will have a solid experience of taking a new major feature from start to release. This role will drive the technical aspects of our product definition, contribute to the product strategy of our solutions, and contribute to the development of next generation cloud management services.
As the manager of the OCI Metering Ingestion Processing team, you are responsible for the ingestion of all customer usage records for all cloud services within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The candidate will manage a team that designs, develops, and supports the Metering pipeline handling millions of usage records an hour. This is a critical pipeline that must remain healthy and timely as this information support all customer usage and billing information.
The manager of this team will manage a team supporting this pipeline in a 24x7 manner. This involves support of the existing pipeline and driving the development of any new features or major improvements to the pipeline. The manager will own the Development and Operations roadmap to support the Metering pipeline. Additionally, the manager interfaces with multiple upstream and downstream teams and will be responsible for clear communication and escalation with these partner teams.
