We are searching for a Server Management Intern to join our Summer 2025 cohort.

 

  • Location: Charlotte, NC
  • Duration: 10 weeks - June 2025 - August 2025
  • Department: Core Platforms


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in server management and virtualization technologies, contributing to the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. This internship is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in a real-world environment while supporting our IT operations.
 

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:

 

  • Server Management:
    • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
    • Monitor server performance, ensuring systems are running efficiently and securely.
    • Support the implementation of updates, patches, and backups for servers.

 

  • Virtualization:
    •  Work with the IT team to manage and maintain virtual environments using technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
    • Assist in the creation and management of virtual machines (VMs) and virtual networks.
    • Monitor and optimize virtual resources to ensure high availability and performance.

 

  • Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Help diagnose and resolve issues related to servers and virtualization environments.
    • Provide technical support to internal teams, troubleshooting server-related issues as needed.
    • Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

 

  • Security and Compliance:
    • Assist in ensuring that server and virtualization environments comply with company security policies and best practices.
    • Participate in security audits and risk assessments.

 

  • Learning and Development:
    •  Engage in training sessions and mentorship opportunities to enhance your knowledge of server management, virtualization, and IT infrastructure.
    •  Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the IT field.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

 

  • Must be a rising senior of a Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and in good academic with a minimum 3.0 GPA as of Summer 2025
  • Basic understanding of server hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
