Primary Purpose

This position will support the Controller and various accounting manager(s) by providing back-up support for month-end close, daily and weekly reporting and other ad-hoc projects. Train in various accounting areas to develop broad accounting knowledge.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Performs various daily, weekly and monthly duties. Completes special projects for the Controller and/or accounting manager(s). Provides back-up to accounting managers.
2. Completes month-end close functions within areas of expertise. Prepares ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as needed.
3. Cross-trains for all the various supported positions and backs-up other team members due to vacations, leave of absence (LOA) situations, etc. Continues to learn about the industry while developing competency and commitment.
4. Assists and supports audit initiatives.
5. Promotes and maintains a safe and secure work environment in accordance with Mountaire policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor`s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2 - 3 years` experience in a related field.
• Strong computer skills.
• MS Excel super user.
• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
