As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

  • The candidate joining the team will be responsible for delivering high quality artifacts as solution patterns for solving specific problems or gaps using cloud native designs and architectures and will be responsible for presenting those solutions to the technology team(s) within the Asset & Wealth Management group. 
  • The individual will also be responsible for providing guidance to the teams for their cloud adoption journey, providing solutions and removing blockers to make them successful by collaboratively working with other technology stakeholders. 
  • The individual would work with technology stakeholders within the central team to help shape the platform architecture and tooling to help AWM operationalize the business deliverables.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years` experience as a Software Engineer or Solutions Architect, with focus on large scale adoption programs
  • Exposure to Cloud Foundry and / or Kubernetes at scale. Understanding of common offerings by cloud providers - AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of cloud native principles and cloud services to propose scalable solutions and proficiency in one or more modern programming languages like Java/Python/JavaScript.
  • Understanding of Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, NodeJS, Maven, Pip.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Version Control tools (BitBucket, Git), managing and tracking work using management tools like JIRA, and following and promoting Agile practices like TDD/BDD
  • Understanding of the end to end software engineering experience (including build, test and deployment automation)
  • Empathy for delivery teams and a passion for improving both the productivity and experience for teams.
  • A fundamental desire and focus on minimizing overhead and complexity while empowering and enabling self-managing & agile delivery
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential, as are diplomatic skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience, bringing strong intellectual capacity, excellent analytical skills and clear, consistent and ethical judgment. Extensive knowledge and experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience leveraging and writing architectural patterns, best practices and guidelines for enterprise applications and highly driven and results orientated: Drives results through people, communication, influence and interaction.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Wealth Management technology experience working across Wealth Planning & Advice, Investing, Lending, Banking with cross-asset experience including Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternatives (preferred)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and architecture is a major plus
