Minor Works Surveyor

What we are looking for
We are looking for a Minor Works Surveyor to join our Investment and Compliance Team. To be successful, you will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.
About the role
Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will deliver minor works programmes, including sustainability works, to Babergh and Mid Suffolk`s housing and corporate stock.
You will:
- assist the Programme Manager in the compilation of minor works programmes, including sustainability works and liaison with other service areas
- lead on the operational delivery of minor works programmes from inception to final account, including sustainability works
- work with contractors to ensure that minor works programmes are delivered on time, within budget and to a high quality standard
- work with consultants and contractors to ensure the delivery of minor works sustainability retrofit projects on time, within budget, to a high quality standard, and in accordance with PAS2035 (or any required future quality standards)
- ensure work being delivered is in accordance with all health and safety requirements, such as CDM
- when required due to urgency, manage, and deliver ad hoc minor works projects
About you
The successful candidate will have a degree in Building Surveying, or equivalent as well as being a member of RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
You will have completed a NEBOSH or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent qualification.
You will have experience/knowledge in:
- delivering minor works programmes and managing building contracts from inception to final account within a social housing or a related sector
- delivering sustainability retrofit minor works programmes
- producing detailed schedules of work
- managing budgets and taking action to address adverse variances
- managing multiple contracts and sustaining long term relationships, preferably within a contract management framework
- contract law, building construction and regulations
- health and safety legislation including asbestos and CDM requirements
- assisting in the procurement and mobilisation of contracts
